TPM BIOTECH AND PARTNERS EYE OPPORTUNITIES AT HALFEST ASEAN 2017

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 23 – TPM Biotech Sdn Bhd and two of its business partners, Suhan Biotech Sdn Bhd and Shahora Trading, see strong potential and abundant opportunities in penetrating the growing Asean market for their range of herbal-based halal products.

Taking part among more than 500 participating companies at the four-day Halfest Asean 2017 exhibition starting today, TPM Biotech is taking the lead by showcasing four of its signature house brand Herbs Garden Garcinia Plus, Herbs Garden Peria, Herbs Garden Smilax Plus and Inno Coffee.

The TPM Biotech Herbs Garden range of products is locally manufactured at its factory in Raub, Pahang. The facility is fully equipped with equipped with machinery and equipment capable of offering contract manufacturing to small and medium-sized enterprises.

TPM Biotech Head, Puan Ema Ukhtiah Zakaria said her company is able to offer a wide range of internationally benchmarked facilities and services.

“Working closely with our customers, we assist biopreneurs by offering advisory and counselling, incubation facilities and services, commercialisation of products, contract manufacturing and also developing strategies to maximise their return on investment.

“Customers can be assured of the highest product quality as commitment to excellence, international practices and processes, and stringent quality controls in meeting highest level of international standards have always been our forte.

“Another distinct advantage of TPM Biotech is its highly advanced science laboratory which is equipped with the latest technologies for halal analysis and verification,” she added.

Meanwhile, Suhan Biotech SdnBhd, a two-year old company established by renowned entertainment personality Datuk Rosyam Nor, is displaying its latest health supplement: Adraa, sour-sop leaf herbal tea, which is produced by TPM Biotech at its Raub facility.

The research and development of sour-sop leaf herbal tea was undertaken over three years prior to its commercialisation. It is a health supplement and contains high antioxidant known to boost the immune system.

Rosyam said his company’s range of sour-sop products is certified by JAKIM and the Ministry of Health which have been obtained through TPM Biotech. “Currently our products are distributed through health supplement distributors in Malaysia. As for the sour-sop tea leaf, we are targeting to achieve sales of 30,000 boxes each month.”

In the case of Shahora Trading, which was incepted in March this year by tv personality, Sharifah Sahora, it is making its maiden entry into the market with its Lubna Milk following a successful six-month research and development.

Targeting children above three years of age to teenagers, Sharifah said while there are many milk products in the market, but Lubna Milk uses slightly different ingredients with a combination of milk, cocoa, dates, raisins and almonds.

“We have received favourable feedback from a small group of regular customers, especially for our cocoa flavour. Each pack of our product contains 25 sachets and is retailed at RM69.00.

“Whilst we appreciate that competition may be stiff from the bigger and more established brands, we are hopeful of securing a small share of the market. For a start, we have appointed four marketing and distribution agents and achieved sales of 1,000 units. Our target is to achieve monthly sales of 500 units.

“TPM Biotech has been most helpful with their professional guidance and contract manufacturing services as well as facilitating the application our halal and Ministry of Health certification,” said Sharifah.

TPM Biotech Pahang facilities have earned Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) status, which was accorded by the Ministry of Health’s National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau.
