KUALA LUMPUR, AUG. 26 – TPM Biotech Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM) with the support from Dewan Perniagaan Usahawan Siber Malaysia, TEKUN, SME Bank and SSM will host a one-day seminar deliberating on the way forward in online marketing and e-commerce for new start-ups, small scale entrepreneurs and small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs).

The full-day seminar themed, “Merdeka Minda” in conjunction of Merdeka Day celebration will be held on Saturday, August 27, at the Auditorium, Resource Centre, Technology Park Malaysia, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

Encik Zainal Abidin Bakri, organising chairman of the joint secretariat who is also the acting head of TPM Biotech, said the event is expected to attract some 200 participants inclusive of seminar and product’s owner. The event was launched by TPM Chairman, Dato’ Ahmad Fauzi bin Zahari, who is also the MP of Setiawangsa.

Ahmad Fauzi said the principal objective of the programme is to promote and heighten greater awareness of the importance, benefits and opportunities abound offered by the rapidly growing e-commerce and online marketing platform.

“Participants will have the opportunity to learn and explore the way forward in engaging OEM contract manufacturing, product development processes, marketing strategies as well as maximizing e-commerce opportunities.

“We have also invited several professionals, experts and successful online entrepreneurs in the e-commerce and online marketing fields to share their experiences and thoughts on how to achieve success. To assist potential start-up and potential entrepreneurs, we have also organised for the Companies Commission of Malaysia to set up a booth to assist participants in the registration of new companies and/or sole proprietorships.

“In addition, representatives from the Cyber Entrepreneur Chamber of Commerce and other supporting governmental agencies, such as TEKUN and SME, will share information on their services, relevant financial and operating assistance available to start-ups, small scale entrepreneurs and SMEs,” added Ahmad Fauzi.

Among the notable speaker at the seminar are  Asrul Rustam Ruslie, President of Cyber Entrepreneur Chamber of Commerce; Redzwan Baharudin, a successful Online Entreprenuer; Michelle Chuah, Founder of Supermodel Secret and Director of IdeaOne Bhd;  Shahzam, Director of Antz Corporation; and Zainal Abidin Bakri, Acting Head, TPM Biotech.

During this event, participants will be given a free online shop and the opportunity to meet up with product owners for them to start their online business immediately
